After an intense semester of work hand in hand with French company Zadig & Voltaire, Junior level students have presented their final outfit to a jury of external professionals. The collection expressed the personal aesthetics of the student and her or his critical vision of the military jacket as an iconic garment that conveys meanings, values and ambiguous bodily and social attitudes.
The 20 projects presented at Parsons Paris showed a high level of freedom and diversity, from the proposal that explores vintage paratroopers’ uniforms (below, Marissa Petterutti’s jumpsuit) to the hedonistic interpretation of a military jacket transformed into a “Love & Sleep” invitation to peace (below, Huiyang Zhang’s blue satin jacket).
