The new studio-based course Introduction to Knitwear Design was launched at Parsons Paris in September 2018. Designer Robert Normand included a fieldtrip at the factory of Maille Creation that develops high-end knit products for the best luxury labels such as Dior, Chanel and Hermès. Students could understand the processes of knit and crochet production thanks to director Marc Lemetayer and his collaborators: the experts in charge of collection development Yamina Piaulet and Mathilde Gueldry, and technician Eric Mjide. This fascinating foray into the world of knitwear production enabled the junior students to improve the overall technical quality of their knitwear collection.
