Lesage Archive

On November 15, 2016, the MA Students of the Master in Fashion Studies went to visit the atelier Lesage at Pantin, outside of Paris. Since 1924, Lesage has been a leading force in fashion and embroidery, serving the most important Parisian and International haute couture houses. During the visit, students were initially introduced to the history of Lesage and her multiple cooperations with brands like Chanel, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. The second part of the visit took place in the atelier, where students had the chance to follow the making-process, understanding the different steps in the creation of embroidery samples for fashion houses. The visit finished with a consultation of Lesage’s archive where students could admire rare sample of embroidery dating back to Charles Worth and Paul Poiret.
